How to Get Help For Tracfone Problems

If you Have Questions or Problems with your Tracfone Cell Phone, Here is How to Get Help

While being a Tracfone customer, I have had various problems over the years. Sometimes the problems I need help with are very simple and easy to answer, other times they can be very technical or challenging problems.

I had a Motorola W376G that I dropped once too many times, and had to get replaced. I was overcharged for a purchase i made, and needed to get refunded (which I was). Another time, when setting up a Family Value Plan, I had some questions about how it would work.

It is likely that at some point, you might need some questions answered or need some help with your Tracfone prepaid cell phone. Which is one of the reasons TracfoneReviewer exists, to help get questions answered, and get you the best deals for your money.

But, because we are in no way affiliated with Tracfone, we can't offer help on specific problems, such as transferring a phone number, or getting a new sim card.

What Can You Do If You Need Help with Your Tracfone?

Well, there are some good resources available to you, in fact, you could check out our previous post on Resources for Technical Questions About Tracfone to get started.

In that post, we highlighted several methods of getting help with questions or problems. Two good ways to get help were simply calling the Tracfone customer help line, and contacting them through an online form on their website, under 'contact us'.

Besides emailing Tracfone your problem, or calling them via their customer service number (which can sometimes take a while and be slightly frustrating) there is another option for getting questions answered and finding help that may be useful  for you.

Get questions answered and help with problems at the official Tracfone forums, where you can register, and post questions or comments on various topics. They have dedicated forum moderators who try to answer, or offer assistance to problems and questions posted there.

This is more useful if you have a problem that can only be fixed by a Tracfone customer service rep. And they don't always make thing simple or easy, but it is another way to get help if you have a problem with your phone.

Of course, you can always post a comment here with any questions you might have!

I had nearly 600 minutes left on my tracphone but no service time left. I bought another card and in the process I lost the minutes and now my phone keeps saying "no service". wgat is wrong?

Does anyone know what to do if this happens: you go to the pay as you go section of the tracfone website put in your phone's information, select the minutes you want and then the website shows the price you owe as $0.00? If you try to go ahead and click on "continue to checkout" you are sent right back to the same page you were on.

The website finally started working again and I was able to buy minutes.

I noticed my earlier message made it seem like I was hoping to get the minutes for free. Actually The reason I tried clicking on continue to check out was because I had hoped that by doing that the actual amount I owed would be shown and I would be able to get my minutes that way.

I am in the process of doing a BYOP and number from another company to Tracfone. I started the process online over 24 hours ago and have up to this point spent several hours on the phone with technical support. My cell phone has been released from the old company but NOT yet activated by Tracfone. This is EXTREMELY frustrating. I am now told it may another 24 hours till this issue is fixed!

lg39c--when away from my home wifi, can only receive emails but can not sent them. I get message "email not sent". Have tried to send with other wifi and 3g, but will not send. As soon as I get back to my home wifi the email will send. Any help will be appreciated.

So I have an LG optimus dynamic from tracfone and it keeps saying I have low storage. But the thing is, I don't have anything downloaded on it except for what came with it. All I have is about 250 pictures and 12 contacts. I tried to add another contact it but it said there's not enough storage space. I even tried deleting some blurry pictures but still no. And now, it won't even let me edit a contact I already have to change someone's phone number. I don't know what to do! My phone keeps thinking I'm out of storage space but I couldn't be. Help me please!

I can assure you it's due to the pictures. My tracfone only let's me have like 60 pictures on it before it starts filling up. Also, delete all of your text messages!

I have a GL306G, just purchased it a few days ago. I love the phone,BUT when make a call the people at the other end can't hear me or can only get part of a word. Many friends of mine have this kind of phone and don't have this problem. HELP

I have a Huawei Glory and have had to trouble to just recently.
When someone is sending me a picture it says it is too big
and locked till a two week period. I also can not seen a picture as it states it is too big. Will not give a reason other
than too large. I have not changed any settings so don't know what could be my problem

About a month ago, I bought airtime for my Tracfone LG flip phone. For the first time, the phone wouldn't take the minutes and gave me the message "unable to add minutes, see tracfoneexchange.com". I called customer no service and they said Tracfone would be changing their system July 27 and that's why the minutes wouldn't add and said my tracfone would not work after that date and they would send me a replacement. The one I received was inferior to the one I had and anytime in the past that this happened, none of the phones had sim cards or the they wouldn't activate. Now me and my elderly mother will be without phones while this nightmare plays out. I have 2 days left on my phone and am afraid to buy minutes because there's never any refund on minutes if things go wrong.

I forgot to add that the website "tracfoneexchange.com" is not even a working site but it's what displays on my phone if I try to add minutes. What kind of crap is going on here? I thought tracfone had improved but they've taken a giant step backwards.

Yikes, sounds like a terrible situation. Yes, Tracfone is phasing out older phones that only use 2G service because 2G service is going away. So you have to switch to a newer phone that users 3G service. Your best option is probably to find and buy a replacement for yourself that will do what you need, as the one sent by Tracfone for free isn't very good. Once you activate your new phone (or the phone Tracfone sent you) you should be able to add airtime.

Text msg. quit working. i have been on the phone with Tracfone for the last five days 6 hours trying to get my text msg back up. Galaxy core prime works fine except for that. Currently Tracfone says they will re provision me in 72 hours thru Verizon. Does that sound like the fix or should I just cancel and go to Verizon direct? I would appreciate any comments.

I have lg sunset, when we go to our cabin, i cannot get data to work. I have 5 out of 5 bars, and can make calls and text, but cannot open a web page. Works fine at home, why not at cabin?

Can someone please help?
I cannot seem to activate my new phone. When I enter the s/n I get the msg "Device can not be activated please check device status". When I try to make a call I get connected to Verizon. When I checked my phone number in Settings, it says 000-000-0000. Please help.
The chat link doesn't work for Tracfone. When you go to the page that it is linked to and press "chat" nothing happens.

More info that may be relevant: the phone is a ZTE Lever purchased from HSN along with 1350 minutes. Hope this helps towards a speedy resolution.

I have had no problems with my LG tracfone, but suddenly the "add airtime" feature disappeared from the display, so that I have to call customer service every time I add air time. Is there any way to get this feature back on my phone? I already took out the battery and SIM card and reinstalled it but noth
noting.

Hi!

I have had Tracfone for YEARS and problems have been minimal but I have never subscribed to a monthly service. I have done so now, for two phones. One of the phones has double minutes for life and another, a SMART phone, has triple minutes for life. If I subscribe to autorefill, do I still get the benefit of the double minutes and triple minutes? I have tried to do an online chat but that feature does NOT work on the website; SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO frustrating! Thanks!

I'm not receiving calls from some other cell phones. Some work but others don't. Sometimes I get a chime like I have a text but nothing is on the phone. TracFone to TracFone calls seem to work as far I can tell. I can text to other phones.

I have a Alcatel 3G tracfone and yesterday 2/5/21 around 5:00 my phone changed. I didn't have my minutes or days left displayed, my phone number, serial number and SIM# were now missing. I tried to make a call, message said Emergency Calls Only and the same with trying to send a text. I was on the phone with customer service for over an hour today 2/6/21, they couldn't figure out the problem until finally I was told they upgraded the service in my area and my phone was out of date. I got no message stating they were changing the service they just stopped my service. I now was told I have to pay for a new phone, with what is happening in this country no job or money it is crazy. I had an upgrade before where I was contacted and a new phone was sent to me free of charge, why do I have to pay now?

I recieved a new Nokia flip. Called to tansfer old number to new phone, they killed my old phone and failed to activate new one. called and went through set up at least 3 more times, no good tried online, NO good kinda stuck with no wher to get fixed...
