List of Best Smartphones for Tracfone BYOP
Tracfone offers a growing selection of smartphones to use with their prepaid cell service, including Apple iPhones, high end smartphones (Samsung Galaxy S6, S7), and many budget smartphones. Consumers can also choose to purchase their own unlocked phone to bring to Tracfone's BYOP program.

But many consumers who want to buy their own phone, have certain questions.

What's the best phone to bring to Tracfone's BYOP (Bring Your Own Phone) program? Are there any phones besides the smartphones from Tracfone that I can use with Tracfone prepaid service? What phone should I buy as a Christmas present for my family member or friend? These are all good questions, and we will help answer them, and more, in this list of the best unlocked smartphones that can be used with Tracfone prepaid service.

Tracfone's BYOP program allows users to find their own smartphone, and then activate it with Tracfone's prepaid service. It is a convenient way to get to choose whatever phone you want, while keeping Tracfone's low cost service plans. But not everyone knows all the best options, so we are here to share our top picks for phones to bring to the BYOP program.

For specific details on the requirements for activating a phone with Tracfone, see our Guide to Transferring/Activating a Smartphone with Tracfone or visit our Tracfone BYOP page (which also has a large list of phone options).

We are choosing these phones based on a variety of factors including popularity, value and cost. These are some of our best suggestions of phones we believe will fit most user's needs. In the end, each person needs to understand what they want out of a phone, and choose a phone according to that.

Most Tracfone users decide to use BYOP because they want a phone with a little more power and performance compared to most Tracfone smartphones, plus a wider selection of devices. In our list, we only include phones priced between $100-$400 as the majority of our readers are looking for a phone in that price range.

Now let's take a look at the list!

Top 6 Unlocked Smartphones to use with Tracfone (that are Reasonably Priced)

Below are the some of the best phones to use with Tracfone based on several factors. We hope this list will act as a guide and suggestion, and allow you to choose which phone best fits your needs.

Google Pixel 3a
Google Pixel 3a
One of the best unlocked budget phones for 2019, the Pixel 3a features an excellent 12MP rear camera (the same as in the more expensive Pixel 3), 5.6" full HD touchscreen, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage and 1.7Ghz octa-core processor. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie with minimal extra apps or software added.

There isn't any water resistance, and the price is a little more than anything else on our list at $399, but for the price you get a number of high-end features only found on $800+ phones.

The Pixel 3a is compatible with both GSM and CDMA networks.

Check out the Google Pixel 3a for yourself on Amazon - $336

Samsung Galaxy A50
Samsung Galaxy A50
With a beautiful, 6.4" full HD screen, the Samsung Galaxy A50 is a great option for those looking for a great phone at a reasonable price. It also comes with an octa-core processor, Android 9.0 Pie, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage and a 4000 mAh battery.

On the back of the Galaxy A50 are three cameras, a 25MP, 8MP and 5MP  for getting those blurry background 'portrait mode' shots and the front camera is a 25MP as well. Image quality isn't quite as good as the Pixel 3a.

The Galaxy A50 has great overall design, good display and great performance for the price at just $275. It is GSM network compatible only, so be aware of that and check to make sure it will work in your area.

View the Samsung Galaxy A50 on Amazon - $273

The Samsung Galaxy A20 is a less expensive version with a little less storage, ram and performance, but available for just $159

Moto G7
Moto G7
The latest in the Moto G line of budget smartphones, the G7 has a large, 6.2" full HD touchscreen, dual rear camera, Octa-core processor, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. It runs Android 9.0 Pie (and will continue to get updates for several years) and can be used with either GSM or CDMA networks.

What makes the Moto G7 such a popular phone is the versatility, performance, and price. The phone is more than capable at snapping great photos and video, handling the latest games and apps, and running all day on a single charge. Best of all, it is listed for just $299 (although we've found it on sale for less). Get the full list of specs and features in our Moto G7 Review.

View the Moto G7 on Amazon - $199

View the Moto G7 Power on Amazon- $229
The G7 Power comes with a much larger battery that easily lasts several days. It also features many of the same specs as the G7 but has a little less RAM and storage, and only a single rear camera.

Motorola G6 and G6 Play
The Moto G6 is the sixth generation of a well-rounded line of phones that offer great value at a reasonable price and a year older than the Moto G7 above.

The G6 has a large, 5.7" full HD touchscreen, 1.8Ghz Octa-core processor, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB Storage and dual rear cameras. It also features the latest Android OS, 8.0 Oreo and is compatible with both GSM and CDMA networks. For more details, view our recent Moto G6 specs and features list.

The G6 is often available for $150 and makes for a great budget option. If you want to save a little money, and don't quite need the performance of the G6 but want a larger battery, the G6 Play is the answer, with a 4000 mAh battery for all day performance. The G6 Play has many of the same features, including Android 8.0 Oreo, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, plus a 13MP rear camera (but not dual rear camera).

The G6 Plus features more RAM, Storage, and a larger screen but is only compatible with GSM networks.

Apple iPhone SE
One of the main reasons many Tracfone users started switching to the BYOP program was to use an Apple iPhone with Tracfone service. Recently Tracfone has also started offering several iPhones including the SE, 6 and 6 Plus and even the iPhone 7 (Visit our Latest Tracfone Smartphone List to see exactly what's new). But it is still generally cheaper to find an unlocked iPhone such as the SE and use it with BYOP.

The iPhone SE is a compact device with impressive internal performance. It features a small, 4" retna display, and internal specs inline with the iPhone 6S, including A9 processor, 12MP rear camera with 4K video, and up to 64GB storage.

Look for the iPhone SE in some retail stores, but also online through Amazon or eBay. Make sure you choose an unlocked version that is compatible with the service in your area.

Nokia 6.1
Built from a single block of aluminium, the Nokia 6.1 is made to be stylish and durable with Corning Gorilla Glass on the 5.5" full HD touchscreen. It also features 3 GB RAM, 32 GB Storage, a 16 MP rear camera and runs Android One.

For those who are unfamiliar with Android One, it is a pure version of the Android operating system with no additional apps or clutter. It is both a hardware and software technical standard from Google designed to give users a consistent experience.

The Nokia 6.1 is a great looking phone but also a little more expensive than some of the options here.

Ultra Budget Options Under $100:
These phones still manage to pack in some great features while keeping a price tag under $100. Just be aware that they usually don't keep up with more expensive phones when it comes to cameras or performance.

BLU VIVO X5
UMIDIGI A3S
Moto E5
ZTE Blade A3 Lite

6 Major Differences between Tracfone Smartphones and 'Dumb' Phones

How Are Smartphones Different from Regular Tracfone Devices?

Updated 1/9/2018

tracfone smartphones vs non smartphones
Tracfone Smartphones vs Dumb Phones
Should you buy a smartphone from Tracfone? What will change if you switch from a regular Tracfone device to a smartphone?

We answer these questions and more with an explanation of how smartphones are different than 'dumb' phones and some things to consider before upgrading.

Let's start with a basic but important question:

What is a Smartphone?

The basic definition of a smartphone from the dictionary is, 'Any phone that performs many of the functions of a computer, such as accessing the internet, and capable of downloading and running applications.'

So a smartphone is just a small computer that also has calling and texting capability included.

There are two main operating systems for smartphones - Android and iOS. Only Apple smartphones use iOS (such as the iPhone 6, iPhone 7 etc.), and the rest of smartphones use the Android Operating System (such as Samsung, LG, Motorola, ZTE, etc.).

Android OS allows users to have access to over a million  different applications through the Google Play Store. These 'apps' provide added functionality, and many are free to download and use. There are apps for nearly anything you can think of, ranging from music and radio streaming, to games and entertainment.

Apple's iPhone devices also have a similar selection of apps that users can install on their phone.

For more about Android OS, here is a link to the Wikipedia page on Android.

And for our recommendations on some great apps for your phone, read our List of the Best Android Apps for Tracfone Users.

Now, we want to mention here that there are three categories of phones form Tracfone at this time:

Three Types of Phones for Tracfone:
  • Tracfone Smartphones - cell phones that use either Android or iOS and are sold by Tracfone
  • Non-Smartphones - All other phones from Tracfone (visit our Cell Phone Reviews page to see them) often called 'dumb' phones.
  • BYOP Phones - A program from Tracfone that allows you to 'Bring Your Own Phone'. (follow the link to learn more about this program) including iPhone and Android devices.
So there are a few different types of phones to choose from, but we won't get into that. We will focus just on Tracfone smartphones, and comparing the difference between them and all other phones offered by Tracfone.

So let's get to the main question, how are smartphones different from regular Tracfone devices?

6 Key Differences Comparing Android Smartphones vs 'Dumb' Phones from Tracfone

A list comparing the major differences between phones with Android operating system, and all the rest that are available from Tracfone. Use this list to help choose whether an Android phone may be right for you. Note, Apple iPhone's use a different operating system compared to Android phones, but have basically the same functionality as far as apps and smartphone capabilities.

tracfone android
Find Apps for Android
1. Access Over 1 Million Applications with Smartphones
Androids are called smartphones because of their increased functionality with access to standardized applications (apps). These apps can do many of the same things that computers programs do, including web browsing, photo editing, games and much much more.

Apps for Android phones are available from the Google Play Store and many are free or just a few dollars. There are over a million applications and they do quite a number of different things.

Access to applications gives Android phones almost unlimited functionality because you can always download and install a new app to do something you couldn't do before.

Non-Android devices from Tracfone are usually limited to the features that come with the phone, like an alarm clock, web browser, etc.

Visit the Google Play Store to see some of the apps available to use with Android.

2. Minutes are Split into Three 'buckets' for Android Phones
One of the major differences between Tracfone's smartphone devices and their non-Android phones is the way minutes work.

android tracfone
Use the same prepaid card for Androids
On the non-Android phones (such as the LG 840G or LG 306G), when you add a 60 minute card, you get 60 minutes (or 180 if you have Triple Minutes for Life) for talking, texting and web browsing all in one 'bucket'. Also, texts cost only 0.3 minutes each.

For Android smartphones (like the LG Fiesta or Samsung Galaxy Luna Pro), a 60 minute card will be split into three 'buckets' and give you 60 minutes calling, 60 texts, and 60mb data (and these will all be tripled to 180 with Triple Minutes for Life). So you get the same number of calling minutes (180), plus texting and data (180 of each)!

Note that Tracfone stopped including certain smartphones with Triple Minutes for Life (follow the link to learn more). Phones running Android 7.0 or newer, or some devices released after April 1, 2017, might not have triple minutes  so be sure to check on that if you are buying a new phone.

The lack of triple minutes does not affect smartphone only cards, which do not triple anyway.

It is also possible to buy only texts for your Tracfone, and buy extra data too.

And Tracfone offers Smartphone Only Airtime Cards which may be a better deal for some users.

So prepaid minutes work a little differently, but for most, this is very beneficial.

3. Touchscreens on All Tracfone Smartphones
Not everyone likes to use a touchscreen, but all of the smartphones from Tracfone have touchscreens at this time. This includes both Apple and Android devices.

Most smartphones these days only have a touchscreen, it has become the standard, and most touchscreens have a good response and sensitivity. But if you prefer the feel of buttons under your fingers, then you might want to stick with Tracfone's like the Samsung S390G or Motorola EX431G which both have full QWERTY keypads.

Additionally, you can visit our Tracfone BYOP page to learn about how you can bring a smartphone to use with Tracfone, including some phones with sliding keyboards. Visit the BYOP page for a phone list and all the details.

4. Android Phones are (generally) Newer
Most of the newest phones from Tracfone are all Android or Apple iPhone devices. Although Tracfone does often release phones that are already a few months to a few years old, they are much newer than any non-smartphone devices from Tracfone.

If you're looking for a newest phones from Tracfone, Android is where you should look. Keep up with the latest Tracfone cell phones in our recent post.

5. Android Phones are (generally) More Expensive
Because the Android phones from Tracfone are newer and have more features, they also tend to be more expensive. Typically the phones will be priced above $100. There are a variety of online stores that offer some great deals, including deals with minutes. So shop around when searching for a phone.

But not all of the Android smartphones are expensive, you can even get the LG Optimus Dynamic for $20 on Amazon right now. Just don't expect too much out of a cheaper smartphone.

6. Smartphone Only Promo Codes
When Tracfone released smartphones they initially did not accept promo codes.

But now there are promo codes for the new smartphone-only airtime cards, and some promo codes for regular airtime cards also work on smartphones.

View our current list of promotional codes for Tracfone that also include several for smartphones.

Bonus Point! You are Charged for Every Text You Receive on Android Phones
On smartphones with Tracfone you cannot choose which incoming texts you read (and are charged for). You are automatically charged for every incoming text, whether you read it or not.

On older 'dumb' phones from Tracfone you can choose not to read a text, and thus not be charged for it. So be aware of this, and if you receive a lot of spam texts, you may want to change your number when changing to an Android phone from Tracfone.

This concludes the list of key differences between Android smartphones and the regular cell phones offered by Tracfone.

We hope these points will help you choose if an Android phone is best for you. If you have any questions, or additional points to add, leave a comment below!

LG 306G vs LG 840G Tracfone Comparison

Compare the Tracfone LG 306G Vs. LG 840G

tracfone lg 840g vs lg 306g comparison
LG 306G vs LG 840G Tracfone Comparison
The LG 306G is a somewhat recent phone released by Tracfone that has many similarities to the older LG 840G. So which one is better? Is it worth upgrading form the LG 840G to the LG 306G? We will cover these questions and more in this cell phone comparison!

Tracfone is a prepaid wireless phone and service provider that focuses on low cost services and phones. The LG 840G and LG 306G are both touchscreen phones, but neither use the Android OS that so many smartphones use these days. (take a look at our List of Android Phones from Tracfone to learn more about the many features these phones have)

This comparison will go over the many similarities these two phones share, and then cover some of the important differences that may just make the difference in which phone you would prefer.

Let's start with a list of the similarities between the LG 306G and LG 840G.

Similar Features for the LG 306G and LG 840G

Both phones offer the following features:
LG 306g compare lg 840g
LG 306G Comparison
  • Triple Minutes for Life
  • Single 'pool' for minutes
  • 2 MP Camera
  • WiFi and 3G connectivity
  • Bluetooth
  • Email
  • Mobile Web
  • 3.2" touchscreen
  • Text and Picture Messaging
  • Hands free speaker
  • Voicemail, Caller ID, etc.
  • Alarm Clock, 1000 Entry Phonebook
  • About 2 weeks battery standby time, 3 hours talk time
As you can see, these phones share many features such as the same size screen, same camera and both have WiFi.

The size of the two phones is also very close, with the LG 840G measuring 4.0 x 2.4 x 0.5 inches and the LG 306G coming in at 4.08 x 2.47 x 0.47 inches.

The LG 840G and LG 306G are both (obviously) made by LG and use a proprietary java based operating system that does allow the installation of applications, but it is not as easy as using Android or an Apple phone.

The reality is this, the LG 306G, despite being released several years after the LG 840G, is not really a big upgrade over the LG 840G and both have many of the same features. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as the LG 840G is a great phone. But there are a couple differences that may sway your purchasing decision one way or another/

Let's get into the differences for the LG 306G VS LG 840G.

Differences Between the LG 306G and LG 840G

tracfone lg 840g vs lg 306g comparison
LG 840G has square corners
The most eye-catching difference is the shape of the LG 306G. It has rounded edges and seems a little more modern in design. It looks somewhat like the Samsung Galaxy Centura The LG 840G, on the other hand, has a very square, boxy design very similar to the LG Optimus Dynamic.

The LG 306G comes with five customizable home screens, which is an upgrade over the LG 840G. However, unless you really like organizing you icons on many different screens, this isn't really a big feature.

Both the LG 306G and LG 840G come with Micro SD cards for extra storage, but the LG 306G comes with a 4GB card and the LG 840G only has a 2GB card.

Lastly, it is possible to install Google Maps on the LG 840G which is a very convenient feature, but there are mixed reports about whether the LG 306G comes with GPS, and if you can use it. We will update as more information becomes available.

You can take a look at our full reviews of the LG 840G and LG 306G to compare the phones yourself and learn more about each one.

Which Phone is Better - LG 840G vs LG 306G

The LG 306G has several features that make it a little better than the LG 840G. But they share so many similarities that these differences don't make that much of a difference. If the shape and look of the phone is important to you, then you can choose the one you like best.

If the questions behind the GPS functionality on the LG 306G is cleared, ti would probably be the clear winner.

A few notes to consider when thinking about buying these phones. First, there are not many cases available for the LG 306G at this time, but there are lots of options for the LG 840G.

And finally, price. The LG 840G typically sells for around $20, with a pink version currently going for $10.

The LG 306G also is going for around $20 in many online stores. There are also a number of minutes bundles available with these phones which can make them even cheaper.

In conclusion, The LG 840G is a great phone, but gets slightly edged out by the LG 306G because of a few differences and upgrades. Is it worth upgrading you LG 840G to the LG 306G? No, probably not. You would be better off upgrading to an Android phone or perhaps an iPhone 4 which can now be used on the Tracfone BYOP program.

And if you really want to get a great deal on minutes, check out our Guide to the Tracfone Family Value Plan and Individual Plan.

We hope you found this comparison useful. Let us know if we missed any important differences and leave your thoughts or questions in the comment section below!

Tracfone Android Phone List - Compare Smartphones

List of Android Tracfone Devices with Reviews and Comparison (2015)

Last updated June 2015.

Complete android tracfone list
Compare Android Tracfone Devices!
NOTE - This list has become outdated, for the newest phones from Tracfone visit our List of Latest Tracfone Smartphones (2018)

Tracfone is now fully embracing Android smartphone devices and sells a variety of different phones. Each of the phones have different features, pro's and con's, that can be hard to evaluate fully.

TracfoneReviewer is here to help with this list of Android devices that includes a quick comparison of each phone, and links to our full reviews.

We wanted to create a resource for consumers who were looking at buying an Android phone from Tracfone and provide a clear list of the phones, with comparison details. This list is for your convenience, and we hope that it will make for an easier decision.

Let's start with a basic but important question:

What are Android phones and how are they different from other Tracfone devices? Well. this is a question we have answered with a full article which you can read by following the link above . This is an important question to understand, and you should decide before proceeding further, if an Android phone is what you need.

The basic answer to the question is that an Android device is a phone that uses a common operating system, called Android, which allows users to have access to thousands of applications on Google Play.

Android phones are usually refereed to as smartphones, or Android smartphones, because of their increased functionality. They almost all have large touchscreens, and can do many things you would normally only be able to do on a computer such as browsing the web, checking email, surfing social media, and getting GPS directions.

Tracfone has recently begun allowing many different phones to be added to their prepaid service through a program called Tracfone BYOP. You can learn more about the variety of devices you can use, including 3G and 4G LTE capable smartphones, on our Tracfone BYOP page.

Well, let's get to the list of Android devices offered by Tracfone.

For Tracfone Users in need of a large touchscreen phone, the Alcatel Onetouch ICON Pop fits that need. With such a large screen, video on the phone has been reported as slightly choppy at times.

11 - UNIMAX MaxPatriot

The MaxPatriot Android phone has a 4" touchscreen, dual core processor, and 5 MP Camera. It was released after the LG Ultimate 2, and while it has good specs on paper, we wouldn't recommend anyone buy this phone. It is manufactured by a relatively unknown company, and many users have reported dissatisfaction with its performance. You're much better off getting an Ultimate 2, Power, or even Optimus Fuel.

LG 840G vs LG 530G - Phone Comparison

How Does the LG 840G Compare to the LG 530G?

This is a common question, which phone is better? Should I buy the LG 840G or the LG 530G?

Here we will discuss the similarities and differences between the LG 840G and LG 530G, noting the pros and cons for each phone as well as choose the best between the two.

Tracfone LG 840g vs lg 530g
LG 840G vs LG 530G Cell Phone Comparison
The LG 840G and LG 530G are two cell phones offered through Tracfone Wireless as prepaid cell phones. You can buy these phones at most retail stores, and many places online. Buying service/minutes for these phones is also easily done online or in stores.

For more information on Tracfone, read our Overview of Tracfone. For more on their cell phones, check out our Tracfone Cell Phone Reviews.

Now, let's get back to the LG 840G vs LG 530G:

LG 840G vs. LG 530G - Similarities and Differences

Beginning with the similarities, these phones are both made by LG, a well known electronics company. Both phones also come with some of the same features:

tracfone lg 530g vs lg 840g
LG 530G
Features offered on Both Phones:
  • Triples Minutes for Life
  • Mobile Web
  • Bluetooth Wireless Technology
  • MP3 Player
  • Camera/Video Recorder (LG 840G has 2PM vs 1.3MP for LG 530G)
  • Hands Free Speaker/Voice Recorder
  • Voicemail/Alarm Clock/Caller ID Etc.
  • 1000 Entry Phone Book
  • Hearing Aid Compatible
  • Includes other basic features, like Wall Charger Etc.
  • Both phones are similar size, and fit comfortably in your hand.
These two phones offer a number of the same great features. Triple Minutes for Life is the best deal you can get from Tracfone, and Triples every minute you add to your phone. (So if you add 60 minutes, you will receive 180 minutes!)

With this information, one can see that both phones are good choices, but let's look at the key differences between the LG 840G and LG 530G to see if there is a best choice.

Features Offered on the LG 530G but not the LG 840G:
  • The LG 530G comes with a full QWERTY keyboard for fast and efficient texting.
  • The LG 530G also typically sells for about $10 cheaper than the LG 840G.
The QWERTY keyboard is a great feature for the LG 530G; it makes texting very easy, and almost anyone can become comfortable using this phone for texting. At about $10 less expensive, the LG 530G is a better deal for the budget conscious.

But let's look at what the LG 840G has to offer:

lg 840g vs lg 530g tracfone cell phone
LG 840G
Features Offered on the LG 840G but not the LG 530G:
  • Full Touchscreen
  • 2GB MicroSD card included for Picture/Music storage
  • 3G speeds and connectivity
  • WiFi Capability
  • The LG 840G can also go 13 days on standby (compared to 6 days for the LG 530G)
That's a pretty serious list of extra features the LG 840G comes with that the LG 530G lacks!

The LG 840G's touchscreen may be challenging for some, but for anyone accustomed to touchscreen devices, it is very easy to use.

An included 2GB MicroSD card is very convenient, allowing you to add music or pictures to the phone.

3G speeds make the LG 840G faster than most Tracfone cell phones for surfing the web. Speaking of surfing the web, the WiFI on the LG 840G allows the user to use the internet for FREE when connected to a WiFi network.

These features make the LG 840G one of the best phones offered by Tracfone, with probably the best list of features. You can even add Google Maps to the LG 840G.

LG 840G Vs LG 530G - The Winner Is:

This is a close comparison, because the LG 530G is a durable and useful phone. But the LG 840G wins because of the awesome extra features it has, including: WiFi, 2GB Micro SD, Touchscreen and 3G speed.
lg 840g vs lg 530g
White LG 840G

Another reason TracfoneReviewer chooses the LG 840G over the LG 530G is price, the LG 840G can be found on Amazon for less than $40! And even in White!

DEAL UPDATE - The White LG 840G is going for $30 on Amazon last check!

In the end, both phones are good choices, but the LG 840G offers better features. You can read our detailed reviews of each phone: LG 840G Review and LG 530G Review to learn more.

LG 500G Vs LG 530G Tracfone Comparison

Comparison of the LG 500G to the LG 530G - Which is Better?

It is a common question we get, should I buy this phone or that? What does the LG 530G have that the LG 500G does not? Here we will compare two similar phones to help you decide which is better for you.

Both of these phones are sold by Tracfone Wireless, a prepaid cell phone company, and these phones as well as prepaid minutes, can be purchased both online and in many retail stores. This information is provided with the goal of increasing consumer information, and to help with buying decisions.

Now, let's begin by looking at some of the similarities between these phones:

Similarities Between the LG 500G and LG 530G

To be quite honest, these phones are very similar, and that is because the LG 530G is the newer version of the LG 500G. (Sort of like our comparison of the LG 800G vs LG 840G)

Both phones have:

lg530g vs lg500g tracfone cell phone comparison
TracfoneReviewer's LG 500G vs LG 530G Comparison
  • Full QWERTY keyboards for fast and easy texting
  • Mobile web
  • MP3 player and MicroSD slot
  • 1.3 MP camera and recorder
  • Hands free speaker, voicemail, phone book
  • Alarm Clock, Bluetooth and other common cell phone features
  • Long battery life
  • Durable construction
As one can see, these phones come with very similar features. Both phones function well, and are great for people who like to text often.

On appearances, these phones are similar, although the LG 530G has more modern styling, and is a little wider. It generally feels and looks a little newer.

Time to look at some key differences between these phones:

Differences Between the LG 500G and LG 530G

There are two key differences between these phones that could make one or the other better for you to purchase.

The first difference is that the LG 500G comes with Double Minutes for Life, and the LG 530G comes with Triple Minutes for Life.

What this means is that with the LG 500G, if you add 60 minutes of airtime, you will get 120. But if you add 60 minutes of airtime to the LG 530G, you will get 180. (and don't forget about using a bonus code for extra minutes). Thus, for people who will use their phone more, the LG 530G is the better deal.

prepaid phone comparison lg 500g vs lg 530g
LG 500G
But the second difference is Price.

The LG 500G is typically much cheaper than the LG 530G, sometimes half the cost.

The LG 500G often retails for around $20, and can be found on Amazon for that price, or sometimes cheaper. The LG 530G, on the other hand, retails for $50, unless you can find it on sale, like on Amazon.

So if you are looking for the cheaper option, the LG 500G is less expensive.

LG 500G Vs LG 530G - And the Winner is:

phone comparison tracfone lg 500g lg 530g
LG 530G
The LG 530G wins in our book, because of the more modern design and the Triple Minutes for Life. The phone is sleek, feels solid, and performs well.

However, this was a close comparison, and if money is a big factor, and you don't plan to be constantly calling or texting, the LG 500G might just be your best choice. It is much cheaper, and still has almost all of the same features.

You can read a detailed review of each of the phones to compare them for yourself:
