How to Add Minutes and Test Different Promo Codes
While many people use their phone to add a prepaid refill card and promo code, there is another option that allows the user to test several different Tracfone promo codes in case the first promo code didn't work: Simply add your new minutes online, and enter your promo code there!- Go to Tracfone.com
- Select the airtime card you want to purchase
- When you get to the 'Checkout' screen, there should be a space to enter a promo code towards the lower right of the screen. Enter a code for your airtime card.
- If you get an error message at the top of the screen, that code will not work. If nothing is displayed the code should work.
- Calling Tracfone to add airtime over the phone is also a good way to check that the promo code will work with your phone before you add the airtime.

On dec 4th I wanted to renew on line my year card of 400min. using the promo code 70006 on tracfone-promo-code site but on payment the site said my credit card was rejected .Checking with my bank ,the card was valid. So I called tracfone custumer service that told me my credit card had not beeen updated (although it was the same I used for the last transaction.) So I asked the agent to complete the actual transaction and asked him if he could apply the promo code for the 15$ off. Before I approved the transaction he confirmed that I would pay 84.99 instead of 99$
Checking later on my bank record I saw that they didn't apply the 15$ off .When I called they told me that the code is invalid (even if I can still see it on the site and if it's still valid for december 2018.)In spite of that they still refused to make the correction.
Bad business practice.Don't trust the agent.

Why are all of these comments so old and out of date, do you not update this information or page? I'm lookin for resent and useful promo codes for my tracfone. I find nothin useful here and it's extremely disappointing.

12745 did NOT work (& hasn't worked the last 2X) for a 60-min/90-day card. Formerly it did when purchased via the internet for an LG-840g (that continues to be all that's needed typically.)
50808 DID work on this date for an add'l 20-mins with the Triple mins on this phone.
Worry that support for the non-"smart" phones could be waning. Hope not!
12/27/18 I just used promo code 37616 for $25 off the Annual Smartphone plan (365 days, 1500 minutes, 1500 texts and 1.5 GB data). I received this code from tracfone via text and the code ends 01/03. Normal cost was $125.
I just purchased 34932 - $50 off - $125 Smartphone Card (1500 Talk/Text/Data and 365 service days) - Working December 2018 as of the 28th!
Tracfone sent me 37616 for $25 off $125 for a year service on a BYOP. Wasn't wild about it as I'm not using that much. 34932 worked for $50 off! $7/month. Happy Camper!

Many thanks for this! 72070 just worked for me on my elderly Tracfone (non-smartphone) using a 365-day, 400-minute card. I also got the triple minutes for life despite your warning that they did away with it in 2017. Don't know what I'll do with the nearly 3000 minutes I've racked up; I mainly wanted the 365 days. Who knows how much longer my phone will last so I didn't pony up for the $50 bucks for a second year, but that's a great deal. (They don't offer it to you until after you sign up for the first year.)

07 Feb - codes 98580 and 95322 on website checkout say they are expired. However, 26249 gave bonus 300 minutes on the web special purchase of 1500 minutes (which on my phone tripled to 4500 total) - Yeah!

Purchased a Samsung S7 from an EBAY seller in Dec. 2018 to replace a
Samsung E5 that had triple minutes for life benefit. During activation and transfer of minutes to the new phone with Tracfone staff on my land line, they confirmed the new S7 did not qualify for triple minutes.
Ok, so I'm planning to switch to a 'smartphone only' plan and selecting the 1 year plan via Auto-Refill. This selection has an automatic 10% savings. My current service end date is March 21, 2019. So, today I
attempted to enroll in Auto-Refill, 1 year plan and tried to apply the
following promo codes sent to me by Tracfone via either email or text messages to the phone: 37031, 39664, 74785. All of these are supposed to be good through March 8. Today is March 7. None worked. I canceled the transaction until later. Hopefully, I can find a promo code that will get me a bit more savings. Unless, BYOP phones just never are allowed to use promo codes. Is that true?

I do not have a smartphone. I have an old LG with triple minutes. I have tried over the last two weeks to use promo code 48691 (300 bonus minutes) with 1 year plan/400 mins. Contacted Tracfone CS 5x with chat and talk, and they said the promo code didn't exist even though it was listed on the Tracfone home page and their Facebook.
I tried to use the promo code 48691 again today, and got the message that the code was not available for my phone. Called Tracfone CS and was told my old LG phone is now a Smartphone and won't accept the code. I don't want to add my year plan until the promo code situation is fixed.
This site is very helpful, but dealing with Tracfone isn't.

For the 60 minute card, I've been using 12745 for YEARS to get a free hour every time I purchased 90 days, but sadly, today (7 Apr 2019) it did not work. However, 50808 still worked for the 60 minute card for 20 free minutes! Thanks for this service!

I tried online order @tracfone site, it "accepted" it and removed promo code box like it was going to work and only got a 1000 texts so far.
TracFone sent me a code just a month before my year card was about to expire. Was good for an amazing 250 minutes! Just filled my phone with a new card and added the promotion only to find it say that I already used the code and its no longer valid. Bummer. I get one code for 250 minutes sent each year and it ALWAYS adds on to the new card value (800 min) + 250 = 1050 minutes.
Well,I just found this site and tried APRIL 2019 CODE 16756 and voila! 300 minutes + my 800 minutes created 1100 total minutes of phone time! THANKS

Every once in a while I've had it happen that the code would test OK on Tracfone's site, but then I wouldn't get the minutes. I've finally gotten to the point where I call Executive Resolutions and have them add the card and code for me.

For the 60 min cards, the old standby 12745 which used to be good for repeated use, now reports as having been used and no longer works for me. 22703 reports as expired, but the 50808 code works at least once.
We have 2 phones. I use mine a lot. Hubby rarely uses his, so he has beaucoup minutes & we'd like to transfer them to my phone.
Trac Fone tech said only way to do it is close his account. Yipes! If we do that, can we reactivate his phone? Will we be able to keep his number & stuff I'd stored on his phone (pics & such)?
Don't want to switch phones as he likes his little flip phone, and hates my LG.

If you JUST need days of service at the lowest possible price:
1. On the order page choose any airtime card.
2. On the checkout page, add the 365 days of service addon for $49.99.
3. REMOVE the airtime card from your order.

Bought $35 smartphone card w 750 min.Tried to use reg codes for 60/120 & greater min, but none worked. Used the Smartphone only cards codes from lower list...
Code 13772 for bonus 200 min worked, (listed march 2019) & it's may, so that is a good deal. Not sure how many free min they applied yet but assuming I got 950 min (750 + 200 free).
So even if the smartphone only card codes MIGHT be expired, try them!

Code 74316 worked for me for 60 bonus minutes on 5/30/2019 on the 120-minute, 90-day card (on a 3G voice/text phone, NOT a smartphone). I just discovered your great blog - I wasn't aware that Tracfone will stop supporting 3G phones by end of 2019, so now at least I can prepare myself and not be surprised when they tell me it's time to upgrade. Do you have any info on promo codes for auto-refill plans? (even if that info is just that there aren't any codes for auto-refill plans)
I'm currently on an auto-refill plan, but I'm planning on switching to a different auto-refill plan, if I get a chance to put in a promo code, I'd like a code to use, but all the codes here are for airtime cards.
Also, you may wanna sort comments by newest 1st, instead of have old 2014 comments on top forever.

Greetings...I was Unable to Use the SMARTPHONE ONLY 41865 CODE FOR 1OO Bonus Minutes because The Card Had to be Purchased ONLY from the Tracfone website(Credit Card) & NOT from an Authorized Tracfone Retailer ie (Walmart or Target)...pretty frustrating after learning of this Restriction/Condition...I was Unable to Use the Retail Card with Scratch off PIN to get the Bonus 100 Talk Minutes...

Code 12745 did not work anymore on July 4th,2019. Message came on and said that the minutes for this code reached the limit and is no longer available to me.I have used this code numerous times and it always worked great. I don't know if the limit is for an imdividual phone or if the code is exhausted for everybody. Just go try and see if it will still work for you.

Once again 12745 and 22703 (60 bonus for the 60 min card) did NOT work for me, but 50808 (20 bonus) worked fine on all three Tracfones I just updated with the 60 min card.
"57135 - 100 bonus Talk - $15 Smartphone Only Card." This code did NOT work online for me yesterday. I have an i-phone 5s, but it said this code was not valid for my phone. Other codes have worked in the past.
Code 12745 gave me 60 bonus minutes (tripled for 180 minutes), along with my regular 60 minutes (tripled for 180 minutes, 360 minutes total with the bonus), 180Mb of data, and 180 texts. This is on my Android phone on July 18, 2019.

Every November I purchase the one year of data/calls/text. There are times during this year when I receive a great deal on a year but does anyone know if I buy that, does it add on to my months??? Or would I not benefit from it? Been wondering this for years. Have never found an answer.

@mbungert, I recently added a year to my plan, and the plan end date changed from April 2020 to April 2021. You get credit for the time you add from the end date of your current plan, not from the date of the purchase

This is the first time a promo code on your site did not work for me! I am grateful for all the ones that have. When trying to use 12745 for 60 bonus minutes with a 60 minute card, I got an error message saying "This code has already been used." The other one was expired, as well, but the code for 20 free minutes worked. SOME free minutes are better than NO free minutes! Thanks again for posting them.
14223 has not worked for me for months, and I just tried 66975, which has worked for me in the past, but that is no longer working for me, either. Both are supposed to add 500mb of data with 1gig card, but alas, no bonus data for me this week. (I add weekly between our 4 phones.)
tried using the 12745 on 60 min card. would not work so I phones tracfone cs to see if they could add min for me. they did not add any min. but used six(6) min from the 60 min I had just added. not really happy about them usi g my purchase min when they say it is a free call.

On Aug 8 2019, promo code 12745 for 60 bonus minutes worked on my --> 120 refill card (but the 40 min bonus code 42550 for the 120 min card was REJECTED).
Suggestion: try all the August codes and see if any of them take. Thanks for maintaining this blog.

I got my teenage son a Tracfone account several years ago and I'm so glad I discovered your site. I just saved another $15 off of his yearly plan of $125. Thank you so much for doing all the research and sharing your findings.
I did the 180 minute for 19.99 90 days service, then added the additional year (shows up when you go to check out for 49.99), so ended up with 1yr and 3 months service for 76.96 after tax. That's 16.9 cents a day. I did try the promo code for an extra 60 minutes, but while it did accept the code, I don't think I got anything. I don't use many minutes in a year so they are not of much value anyway, it just an emergency phone. At basically $5 a month hard to find a cheaper phone.

Following codes did not work with my not-a-basic phone: 16756, 43342, 72881, 74316. (All three resulted as error "Error: Promotion 74316 not valid for this phone", or substitute other number.) I tried also code 20255, again "not valid for this phone". But promo 12745 on $19.99/90day/60minute Basic Phone Plan DID work with my not-a-Basic Phone.
And verifying what shasteen55 said: "Error: Promotion 98580 has expired."
If promo code 20255 works for anybody then perhaps it can be added to the great list?

This site has helped me several times to get the 500 mb for data (i've bought 2x a day, 2x now and got the 500 mb all 4 times.) I also used the code for the 1000 free texts today as well, and that worked as well.

Until Dec.4th, 2019, this promo code is supposed to work on 200 min cards: 86802. I have an older Tracfone. I just got 50 extra minutes!
Whenever I try to use a smartphone code these past few months, it says my phone isn't eligible. It is a tracfone smartphone and the codes used to work. When I contact the lame customer service, it takes 30-100+ minutes for them to tell me they can't figure it out.
For example, I'm having the problem today using code 78855 and adding the $15 smartphone plan, which should get me 100 bonus minutes. Instead it just says my phone isn't eligible.
It looks to me like their website thinks I just have a regular non-smartphone or something.
Has anyone else had this issue and were you able to get it fixed?

Hi, I used the code 22448 for 1 year card that is $199 on 12/9/19 (triple minutes smartphones) and it did take $50 off on the $199 - 1 year service plan that triples the minutes/texts/data. But it only triples for the devices that are eligible/grandfathered under the 'old' triple minutes plan.

beware when you switch from regular plan to the smartphone unlimited plan, the first month went ok and got the unlimited service np, the second/following month of service tracfone cut off my data and did NOT roll over (even though it says unused minutes do roll over as long as you keep the service) it took me several pone calls and about 6 hrs of persisting on cust service line, a supervisor talk, and i finnaly asked to be transferred to "corporate" because i said i will give FCC complaint as they took away what they advertise and what i already paid for, so someone finally 'fixed it' directly on the payment system, and 6 hrs of my time to get the 2.2 data back. with several cust service trying to pursuade me they do not roll over, and etc etc et, when it says they do. will see what month 3 brings, but seriously, how hard is to get the service right, the one you advertise, and their chat is so useless, and similarly most of the cust svce designed to not to give you what you paid for, until you persist. should not be that hard to get 'unlimited' limited service for the thing you already got charged for

I purchased a $15 TracFone Smartphone card. The card has the option of purchasing $15, $25, $35 or $125 plans on the same card. I tried all the promo codes and none worked. Although the promo code box was empty, instead of 200 minutes, 500 texts & 500 MB data, I was given 500 minutes of talk. The texts and data remained the same.
I tried to get bonus minutes bu using several bonus codes you posted for dec 1919 I was shocked when she staeted telling me these all are good if you buy the plan that goes with the bonus code. I wasn't aware that you had to buy another plan in order to get the bonus minutes. there was nomention on your websight about having to buy a plan. I bought my service card at a store locally.

NONE of the codes worked for my smartphone. All say either expired or not valid for this phone. This site used to be great, yes past tense.
As of Jan 11 2020, 22703 is expired. I tried it with a 120 minute card and it did not post.
On 1/15/2020 I tried promo code 22703, it said was no longer valid at 6:50 a.m. ET. This was for a 60 minute card as I need to build up months on this phone. May try it for a card like 200 minute. 12745 gave me 60 extra on a 60 minute card, at this time.
None of the January 60 min codes worked for me but I successfully tried code 55698 which I found somewhere else and got 80 bonus minutes, totaling 140 minutes.

After having added a 450-minute card (and discovering that 47906 wouldn't work), Tracfone sent me notice of a new promo number, valid for the nest two weeks (until circa February 11): 20218 is good for 60 additional minutes on a 450-minute card.
(Gonna miss this little LG 420G when I finally have to replace it by the end of the year--it's served me well.)
02/02/2020 - They seem to be cracking down harder on some of these codes.
Tried 12745 with a 60 minute card, got a "already used" error which I had never gotten before despite the fact I've used it a bunch.
50808 came up "this promotion is expired." I had not tried that one before either.
55698 worked for me. 20 for free is still a good deal, certainly better than nothing.

2/3/2020 This the first time any code has worked for me on a 500 Minute Service Add-on. Code 55698 was accepted and added 20 minutes for a total of 520 minutes.

After buying and adding a 450 min card to my triple minutes for life phone, I added March 2020 promo code 28835 for 50 bonus minutes for "200 min OR GREATER cards". I received my triple minutes, but NOT the extra 50 minutes. Received a text to call customer service to complete transaction.(I normally buy 200 min cards but had to buy a 450 card because 200 min cards are no longer available locally.) After explaining repeatedly, slowly and clearly the situation to the nice foreign lady on the phone (with the dog barking in the background! haha)she told me the promo code would only work with a 200 minute card and I would need to buy another 200 minute card. Also stated she had no authority to add the extra minutes I was not given. Ten minutes wasted. Lesson: customer service is useless. OH, and at the beginning I was asked if I would do a survey after call. I said 'yes'. When I waited to be switched to survey, lady asked why I was still on phone. I said "to do the survey". She then told me I could not because I don't have the right type of phone or some such crap. Surveys are apparently only for positive reviews!
22448 just worked for me, amazing to get a year of service for $75
I was one day late on renewing phone minutes. When I went to https://www.fastactportal.com/static/balance - it shows the current balances for minutes, text and data. I've used this for a long time since it was posted on this blog. What surprised me this time is that texts were all set to zero. So I added 360 minutes (120 tripled).
Then I contacted Tracfone via Facebook and chatted with someone about it. They said oh you have 4449 texts, which is great but the site above did not show that I had had 4089 before adding 360.
On the other hand for my wife's phone it showed she had 5340 minutes adding 360 would have given her 5700 minutes - now they said you must have misread, because even with 360 added she only has 849 minutes!
Ah, I just now discovered the error - she had 534.0 adding 360 does give her 849.
Mine had shown 18820 (which I knew was wrong) - it was 1882.0 the period is nearly impossible to see.
So other than the text figures not showing up using this website everything else seems to be correct.

On May 8,2020 I used promo code 89690 and got an extra 250 bonus minutes for my 1 year/400 minute refill card on my regular tracphone(automatic double minutes). That gave me a total of 1050 minutes.
Just used this code 31268 on 5/10/2020 and it gave me $15.00 off when I bought 365/3000 minute card !

On May 17, I purchased a 120 min/text/data card that triples, but code 56713 didn't work for the extra 30 bonus minutes. For some reason, code 55698 for the 60 minute card did work, but I only received 20 extra minutes.
22448 just worked for me with an unlocked BYO iphone SE 2020. What a deal! One year of service with 1500 minutes for about $81 with the fees and taxes.
I bought a 120 minutes card for Talk, Text, Web adds promo code 56713, and received 270 bonus minutes, not bad for $30.
