How to Test More than One TracFone Promo Code

How to Try More Than One TracFone Promo Code When Adding a New Card

Note: This post is a little out of date, and Tracfone has changed their website. We will be updating soon!

Have you ever wanted to use a promo code, but you weren't sure if it would work? Or have you actually used one, but it was expired so you didn't get any bonus minutes?

Avoid missing out on these bonus minutes by using this simple method for adding a new phone card to your TracFone Prepaid Phone.

Android phones are not supposed to receive bonus minutes, but many of our readers report successfully adding promo codes to get bonus minutes.

Enter Your Promo Code at TracFone.com and Test up to 3 Different Promo Codes!

Add Airtime Card Online
Here is how to try several different promo codes:
  1. Go to Tracfone.com
  2. Click 'Add Airtime' in orange at the upper right side of the screen, then click 'Add Card Online' from the drop down menu.
  3. This will bring up a popup window, where you can enter your Airtime PIN, Telephone number, and Promo Code. Sometimes you will be taken to a new page where you can enter this information.

If your first code doesn't work, a message should pop up and say that it is expired, etc. You are then able to try a different promo code.

how to add tracfone minutes
Tracfone Minutes Popup
You can try up to three promo codes. On the third try, whatever pin/promo code combination you have used will be processed. If that promo code is expired, then you won't get any bonus minutes. So always make sure the third promo code you enter is working.

You can end the transaction before entering the third promo code, allowing you to restart the process and not miss out on getting some bonus minutes!

Using this method allows you to try one or two codes that might be expired without missing a chance to get bonus minutes.

Be sure to check out our list of TracFone Promo Codes to find a few to try next time you add minutes to your phone!

After the second code fails, you can also cancel the transaction and start over again for another two attempts, and so on for several times from my experience!!!

That is a great tip! Thanks for reading and for the info!

Best off with triple minute phones. Today I added a 200 minute card and received 60 bonus minutes via the code tracfone reviewer. I received a total of 460 minutes for $44. Of course, had it been a triple minutes phone I would have received 660 minutes. I broke it down by cost per unit. The 460 minutes for $44 came to $.096/unit. Had I used a triple minutes phone it would have been $.067/unit. It makes a difference. Thank You tracfonereviewer for the codes and information. The code you suggested offered a better bonus than the one offered by tracfone.

I've never been limited to only 3 tries.

You guys are great! My original coupon book expired last year and I just expected that that was the end of that. Rather than adding by phone (like usual) I Googled "Tracfone" and saw "tracfone promo code" down about 4 options. The 1st code I tried worked. Those minutes would have cost me $20 otherwise. While you haven't quite restored my faith in humanity, I no longer have the urge to hole up in a bunker with assault weapons and cases of Ramen, muttering to myself. Thank You!

The procedure described above asks for an airtime PIN from an airtime card or cash register receipt, which you may not have. Here is the alternate procedure for buying directly online:

Go to Tracfone homepage -> select Add Airtime, Buy Online -> on the next screen, select "Pay As You Go" -> on the next screen, select the cards you want to buy, then in the area on the right of the screen, enter your phone/serial/IMEI number and promo code -> click "continue to checkout"

If the code is expired, you will get a warning message in a red banner at the top of the next screen. Try another code. To be safe, I only did this twice, then closed the window and started over. When you finally enter a code that works, it will take you directly to the payment login screen.

I am so grateful to this site for giving me this information, and to the commentors here who have added to it -- thank you all, VERY much!
I can't believe that I've gone for so long without knowing this vital information.

I just used code 84464 bought 60 minutes and got 90 bonus minutes! What a bargain!

New to Tracfone. So I understand, you can only use 1 good promo code in final transaction. You can't stack (provide), 2 or more good codes, and get both Promos, right? This whole discussion, is how to make sure you get one (1), that is active and will take, right? thanks.

TracfoneReviewer Team said...

Yes, you are correct. Tracfone puts out a lot of codes, and they don't always say when they expire. So this is about how to test different codes until you find one that works. You can only use one code per minute card refil.

Sure glad I came across this blog.
My service end date comes in a few days, but I still have several hundred minutes remaining. What the best deal, or combination, that would extend my service date, while adding little or no minutes?
Thank one and all.

I just used a Monthly Value Plan to add 30 days for 5.99 plus taxes and fees, which for me came out to around $6.50 per month. This will be added to my account automatically when my due date arrives. So the only catch is that I will have to monitor my minutes. When my minutes are getting low, I'll have to purchase more in some way and catch it before I run out, or I'll be charged 6.50 to add time I can't use/don't need and will still have to add time with the purchase of minutes. Does this make sense?
Anyway, I figure this is cheaper than $99 for a year (6.50 x 12 = 78) and I continue to get the advantage that I don't have to recalculate my best plan every couple of months.

thank you Carol. My mom has several hundred minutes (she never runs out!)but is out of days. My first thought was to try doing the $5.99 plan, but wasn't sure if it would work month after month, just adding 30 days for only $6-ish. Sounds like this will be the best way for her to keep service on.

Anonymous said...

This site is great!!!

I didn't think they had codes if you were just buying a 60 card.

I just used the 72685 code and got the bonus 30 minutes.

Thank you

Anonymous said...

Still working. Many thanks and I'll keep the energy going in some way.

Anonymous said...

I entered a "possibly expired" code first and Tracfone replied that it HAD expired. Then I entered code 72685 for 30 minutes, which you showed was working. Tracfone seemed to accept that, but after the purchase was completed I didn't receive any bonus minutes. How can I know if your code is going to work for my phone?

TracfoneReviewer Team said...

That's very strange, I would call Tracfone and tell them their code didn't work, and then give it to them. If they tell you it is expired, just try another! They should give you the bonus minutes, although it might be a hassle.

Anonymous said...

try bluetooth or try sending them as a text message to your new fone.

DITTO! Except I still have my case of Ramen.......just in case.

Anonymous said...

I have a triple minute phone and received those, but when I put in the promo it accepted it then a few seconds later it deducted it from my total. Does that mean it expired? It was one you have for Nov.2013 for 60 min card and up.

Jan 12 2014 tried code 74316 (200 minutes) Did not work and would not let me try another promo code There has to be a better way to get bonus minutes. I feel that this is a rip off and will look into other cell phones that make it much easier for seniors.

Cool!!! I've got a 'triple-minutes-for-life' phone, and always want to use a promo code for extras. Googling "Tracfone promo" I discovered this site and a whole list of codes -- EXCELLENT! The one I used worked nicely. Thanks!

Code 84464 worked today (4/13/14) for 30 bonus minutes on a 60 minute card purchase...thanks!

I used 38361 promo code and did not seem to work for 200 minute card

Anonymous said...

84464 worked 5/4/14, it added 30 min on top of my triple minutes that my phone gives. (bought a 60 received a total of 210 min.). Yea, thanks!

Anonymous said...

I don't understand. I just bought the phone and a phone card for 120 minutes. A previos comment made me wonder about their question.. will adding a promo code add on to the tripled minutes already offered? I need to activate over the phone. Any suggestions or comments? Thanks for your input.

Anonymous said...

Got a new tracfone after my old one gave out and when I went to buy more minutes using a promo code, I got the following error message: "We're sorry, but Promo Codes are not valid for Android phones." This is really the pits!!

anonymous said...

My code did not get accepted on my HP android tablet, but I signed on on my desktop and purchased there and the code was accepted. Try a desktop! Good luck!

Will the triple minutes work with the "1500 minute, one year plan"(web exclusive)? Will I receive 4500 minutes? Are there promo codes associated with this plan?

Anonymous said...

Absolutely, your triple minutes will work on the 1500 minute, one year plan, and, as you've already noticed, that is a well kept secret, (only on-line, not seen in stores). It's the biggest bang for your buck!! All promo codes should work, as they are good on any card above what they are offered for, and the 1500 minute card is at the top of the heap! I did this last September, and am about to do it again, (not out of days, just low on minutes). Good Luck!

Code 84464 worked - I received 30 bonus minutes with an online purchase of 60 minutes.

Happy days are here again. For once I got over, as opposed to everyone getting over on me! :-o Oct. 7th 2014. Just used 84464 on an online 60 minute purchase and received 230 minutes all toll. Niiiice!!!! This is a too cool site. Thanks!

Used code 59396; got 30 extra airtime minutes on 60 minute airtime card.

I have the LG triple minutes Tracfone. I only purchase the 60 minute airtime card every 3 months. Any card purchased adds 3 months of service. I seldom use my phone so I go the cheapest route. As of now, I have 1527.70 minutes. I purchased my phone for $5.00 from Walmart 2 years ago.

how to get the recording icon off the cell phone don't have the instructions for it..... HELP

Purchased 60 minutes online; used code 71287 for 30 bonus minutes. It worked. Got 60 (purchased) + 60 (double minutes for life) + 30 bonus.

Anonymous said...

Didn't work for me. Perhaps a few explicit screen shots would help. I think that Tracfone may have change some of this. I entered the airtime pin, promo code, and phone number in a pop-up window. Took me to the same info in a regular window. The whole thing didn't work. No message about good or bad promo code. Txt message to the phone said "Thank you for Adding Airtime. Your Service End Date is " . Yes, it didn't give a date, and a check of the balance showed nothing was added. After 15 minutes, I tried the Airtime Pin again, but this time the Promo Code box was shaded out and nothing could be added. Fortunately this time it added the normal 3X minutes for my Android ZTE Valet phone. Oh, well. Would be nice to know EXACTLY what phone work and an EXPLICIT procedure.

My comments may not not fit with current comments - forgive me as I am not familiar with posting on blogs. After reading earlier blogs I was finally able to confirm that my LG 840G which I bought at Dollar General in ARK (I had lost my tracphone) clearly uses the T-Mobil carrier service and not ATT. T-Mobile has very poor coverage for my area - 03450. If it used ATT I would have significantly better coverage. My older LG tracfone got much better service coverage. I am so frustrated with this one that although I love the full keyboard and the camera and simplicity the poor service/no service is proving to be a very poor choice for me. Wish I had known before I bought it. Bad enough that it took me several months to get Tracfone to activate it with my "old" number. But at least I have finally solved the poor service/no service mystery and will have to give this phone up since the lack of cell service is not very useful. Now maybe I can restore harmony with my partner who simply could not understand that different phones within the Tracfone line use different carriers.

Hope this helps others. Thanks so much again for helping me solve my mystery! Now to find a new phone....

I am sooo glad you take the time to post this information. I have saved a lot of money with the additional bonus minutes I have been able to get with the promo codes you provide. Also, the info to check out mare than one code is great! Thank you for this site!

Your July code for 60 mins is still working today. Thank you so much. This site is great. It's always nice to get a little bonus once in awhile, and your site did not disappoint. No ties or anything, just free information. So hard to find these days. Thanks again. :)

The bonus code 76679 did not work today, 7-28-15, however 60860 did for the 120 minute card. I am grateful for your research in this area...we all can use a gift now and again!
Thank you!

12745 worked for me, thanks for guidance, this is theee best place for this info..

Dave the retired librarian said...

I just bought 2 60-min cards in the same transaction with the 12745 code, and I think I should have done it as 2 successive transactions each for 1 60-min card. I have long had double minutes on this phone, so my expenditure of $39.98 (2 * $19.99) + tax bought me the following: (2 cards * 90 days =) 180 days + 300 minutes, and the minutes break down to (60 min doubled = 120) * 2 cards = 240 minutes + 60 minutes bonus. So I only got 1 bonus, not one for each of 2 cards. Probably everybody knows to do successive transactions with working codes to get a bonus on each card, but I didn't think enough about it to understand that.

Anonymous said...

I had lots of minutes but was running out of service time. The cheapest option was 30 minutes and 30 days for $9.99 (online only); at checkout I was offered the option to add 365 days of service for $49.99, which was what was really needed. Wish there was an option to just add service time, but this method came close.

Just successfully used Code 12745 with a 60 min card to get 180 minutes (60 doubled to 120, plus the 60 promo code mins)

also, Tracfone send me Promo Code 90595 for 20 mins with a 60 min card.
I didn't use it as the other worked.

Tim said...

code 12745 did not provide bonus minutes; no screen to say hey, try again. I suppose your comment that Android phones can't receive bonus minutes is the cause? I have an LGL33L.

The thing that bugs me about current tracphone is that it does not show me when my time expires or minutes left. I did find a site or perhaps part of the Tracphone site where I could input my number to discover this.

Still I have enjoyed using these codes in the past. A great service!

Used a code today, April 11, 2017, (63681), for a 1 yr. 400 min. card, was listed good on 4/5/17. When I applied the code in the bonus box , a flag popped up like this, (!OSB-380000). Had to chat on-line (Help 611611) to complete transaction. Got 250 bonus minutes.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the site. I needed to ad minutes, but didn't have promo. I tried 12745 and it immediately added 60 mins to my double 60 min. card. The easiest time that I have ever had trying to add airtime. Your site is a real service, and I have now bookmarked it. Worked in April,2017.

I just used the code 22703 for 60 bonus min. And it worked. I entered it right on my LG flip phone.

Hello. Today I tried to use the July, 2017 promo code listed. It was even advertised on the TF webpage. Sigh, since I use an unlocked international BYOPhone, (LG G4) cust service told me I was not eligible for the promos. Cust serve also told me that yesterday, but todays rep reiterated it (and spoke perfect English). The promo codes, and some other features like 10% off if you put your airtime purchase on automatic renewal, are good only if you use a phone purchased from Tracfone. Its still a great deal for light users. A year ago I bought a 400 minute card good for 365 days. All "buckets of service" tripled. So far I've used half of the 1200 voice minutes, half of the 1200 mb data, and three fourths of the 1200 texts. At $99.99, each unit of service is about $.027 or 2.7 cents! If you are a heavier user, today I discovered that the TF website sells even bigger packages, good for a year, at prices down to $.014 (1.4 cents) per unit of service. Great deal - and, if you run low on either data or texts, those can be added separately at even lower cost. I love the convenience of renewing my cell phone service annually - and unused units roll over into the next service year! Can't beat it !

Seems like a big scam-Tracfone sends a promo code , then when you try to use it, you are told that it has already been used. FAKE-FALSE-should be reported to FCC. and BBB

Today I tried to use a promo code, the 60 min one above listed that has been on here many times and the last two times I've used it, it did not give me bonus and today I didn't even get my triple so had to call customer service. Last time they added that 60 for me but this time she would not at all telling me I had used it before and when I said can I use another for I did not know she would not let me. This is the first time ever that has happened and has turned me off to them for I have been a customer for so many years I can't recall and the last 3 or 4 times I have had to call customer service when I never had to call before.
